NHRA Drag Racing: A Brief Introduction
The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) is the world's premier drag racing organization, with over 100,000 members and fans across the United States and Canada. The NHRA sanctions drag racing events at over 80 tracks and hundreds of local events each year. The NHRA has been around since 1951, and its professional class racing is considered the pinnacle of the sport.
NHRA Drag Racing Classes
The NHRA has five professional classes of drag racing, including Top Fuel (TF), Funny Car (FC), Pro Stock (PS), Pro Stock Motorcycle (PSM), and Pro Modified (PM). Additionally, the NHRA has many classes of sportsman and bracket racing, which involve both professional drivers and amateur racers.
NHRA Races This Weekend 2022
This weekend, the NHRA will be holding an event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NHRA Las Vegas event is the third stop on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule for 2022. The event will feature all five of the NHRA’s professional classes of drag racing. Additionally, there will be sportsman and bracket racing classes, as well as a variety of other activities at the track.
NHRA Top Fuel Results
The NHRA Top Fuel class is the most prestigious and fastest of the NHRA’s professional classes. It features the world’s fastest dragsters, capable of reaching speeds of over 330 mph. This weekend’s Top Fuel results saw Brittany Force take the win in her dragster, with a time of 3.735 seconds at 321.27 mph. Second place went to Steve Torrence in his dragster, with a time of 3.792 seconds at 318.99 mph. Third place went to Leah Pritchett in her dragster, with a time of 3.812 seconds at 319.07 mph.
NHRA Funny Car Results
The NHRA Funny Car class is the second-fastest class in the NHRA. It features incredibly powerful and fast dragsters, capable of reaching speeds of over 320 mph. This weekend’s Funny Car results saw John Force take the win in his dragster, with a time of 3.841 seconds at 321.73 mph. Second place went to Robert Hight in his dragster, with a time of 3.854 seconds at 317.72 mph. Third place went to Ron Capps in his dragster, with a time of 3.863 seconds at 315.56 mph.
NHRA Pro Stock Results
The NHRA Pro Stock class is the third-fastest class in the NHRA. It features the world’s most powerful and precise production-based cars, capable of reaching speeds of over 300 mph. This weekend’s Pro Stock results saw Jason Line take the win in his car, with a time of 6.552 seconds at 211.26 mph. Second place went to Greg Anderson in his car, with a time of 6.561 seconds at 209.98 mph. Third place went to Allen Johnson in his car, with a time of 6.568 seconds at 209.92 mph.
NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Results
The NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class is the fourth-fastest class in the NHRA. It features the world’s fastest and most powerful production-based motorcycles, capable of reaching speeds of over 200 mph. This weekend’s Pro Stock Motorcycle results saw Andrew Hines take the win in his bike, with a time of 6.865 seconds at 196.09 mph. Second place went to Eddie Krawiec in his bike, with a time of 6.870 seconds at 196.03 mph. Third place went to LE Tonglet in his bike, with a time of 6.881 seconds at 195.92 mph.

The NHRA Pro Modified class is the fifth-fastest class in the NHRA. It features the world’s most powerful and fastest modified cars, capable of reaching speeds of over 250 mph. This weekend’s Pro Modified results saw Troy Coughlin Jr. take the win in his car, with a time of 5.810 seconds at 250.53 mph. Second place went to Kenny Lang in his car, with a time of 5.817 seconds at 250.08 mph. Third place went to Mike Janis in his car, with a time of 5.824 seconds at 250.03 mph.
